isn't a doll, but some macro lenses. For the past three months I was pondering whether to buy a close-up lens or not. And if yes what kind of lens as the prices and the quality of these vary pretty much. In the end I went with a simple lens kit, because it was readily available and on sale, too. Did I mention that I'm horribly impatient ;)? I'm really pleasantly surprised with it though as it's absolutely enough for taking nice photos and doing little experiments and in case I'll find out that I use them fairly enough I can still upgrade to the €€€ version later.

Yet I can tell you, it's scary. With a lens like that you suddenly start to see the world through new eyes. In this case the face-ups of my dolls. You will notice the tiniest scratches in the face-ups of your doll that you haven't noticed before O.O

Mein neuestes Spielzeug ist ein Makrolinsen Set, dass ich im Angebot für gerade mal EUR 30,- gekauft habe. Zu dem Preis hatte ich mir von der Qualität ehrlich gestanden nicht viel erwartet, nur zum Vergleich ein vernünftiges Makroobjektiv kostet meist über dreihundert Euro, aber ich bin von dem kleinen Kit doch angenehm überrascht worden. Für Makroaufnahmen von zum Beispiel Puppengesichtern und anderem unbeweglichem Gegenständen ist es jedenfalls mehr als ausreichend, da lohnt sich die Anschaffung eines Makroobjektives nicht unbedingt.

Aber ich muss vorwarnen, es ist ein fürchterliches Erlebnis, damit BJDs zu fotografieren, ihr werdet Macken und Fehler in den Face-ups entdecken, die ihr vorher nicht im Traum wahrgenommen hättet. Schon die leichtesten Kratzer und Unebenheiten im Rouge fallen auf!
Und wie!!! O.O

Chibbi Newt Preorder

Since there is currently a preorder for the Chibi version of Newt, I thought I'd share a picture of my (original sized) Newt. I really like this kitty a lot, however, I think I do have to change something about her style. She might need another, more dramatic face-up I think. I don't have any clues though what exactly I'd love for her. Maybe for a change I should try myself at changing (or improving) her face-up. If everything fails, I can still send her away for a more professional face-up. And, of course, I also need the Chibi Version of her :D.

  So, let's start from the beginning. First we will need a new wig for Semi. While I really do love her colourful old one, it's really time for something new, something to go well with her new, more romantic look. At first I thought that maybe a short, bob style would be nice, but then I settled on a type of wig that would better accentuate her pear shaped body, by basically repeating that shape.  Yup, I think that's the new look we're going for.  EDIT: And we already found one to match the criteria. It's a little bit too large on her head, but otherwise it's the perfect length and volume. The ears should be able to keep it in place just fine.

So the reasons why there weren't any new posts in this blog in the last weeks was that I dedicated every free minute to the challenges in the DoA triathlon. Now that the triathlon is finally over and the winners were announced, I'll happily show you my creations and tell you a little bit about it, too. The doll I choose to be my model in this challenge was Naoumie, my Withdoll Emma. Her tan skin forms such a nice contrast to the transparent/white parts of her outfit. The idea with the goldfish bowl was literally the first idea I had. I knew that I had to make this on a low budget (I spent too much money on dolls lately and refused to buy more stuff), so I looked around for transparent plastic items that I could use and I came across those little plastic bowls. The one she's wearing as a head decoration /fascinator. I have three of them and I bought them a couple of years ago (I think they were filled with fruit pudding), just because I thought that they'd make n
