New Year, New Look for Semiramis

So there are some dolls that really need a new makeover. 
Just like this poor Kitty here. Although I actually like her wig as it goes really well with her eye color, it just doesn't fit her very particular head shape perfectly. It's a hard cap wig and without the magnets in the cat ears it would probably not even stay on. So I guess we'll have to find her another one. 
And if we're already at it: the poor girl has been wearing this romper for over a year now, because I just don't have so many outfits for her very special and extremely pear shaped body. 
So the plan for the end of the year is: find Semiramis a new wig and make her a new outfit, preferably something that would match the season outside.

Da ich ja diesen Blog etwas wiederbeleben will, ist die beste Idee ein paar WIPs zu posten. Auf diese Weise bekomme ich endlich wieder etwas für die Dollies gemacht und vielleicht ist die Info ja nützlich für den ein oder anderen. 

Anfangen will ich mit den Dolls, die aus irgendeinem Grund noch nicht wirklich fertiggestellt sind oder aber dringend ein neues Makeover bräuchten. Und mit Semiramis, meiner Lillycat Chibbi Newt hier, fangen wir mal ganz einfach an. 

Die Ärmste stand von Anfang an im Schatten ihrer Zwillingsschwester Cleo und war mehr so ein bisschen eine Experimentierdoll, was Styles angeht und hat niemals eine eigene Persönlichkeit entwickelt. Also höchste Zeit um das endlich zu ändern. Cleo trägt momentan sehr rüschige Mode, fast schon Richtung Gothic Lolita, und weil ich definitiv nicht das gleiche für Mira möchte, probieren wir doch vielleicht mal ein bisschen was im Mori Style für sie?

Chibbi Newt Preorder

Since there is currently a preorder for the Chibi version of Newt, I thought I'd share a picture of my (original sized) Newt. I really like this kitty a lot, however, I think I do have to change something about her style. She might need another, more dramatic face-up I think. I don't have any clues though what exactly I'd love for her. Maybe for a change I should try myself at changing (or improving) her face-up. If everything fails, I can still send her away for a more professional face-up. And, of course, I also need the Chibi Version of her :D.

So the reasons why there weren't any new posts in this blog in the last weeks was that I dedicated every free minute to the challenges in the DoA triathlon. Now that the triathlon is finally over and the winners were announced, I'll happily show you my creations and tell you a little bit about it, too. The doll I choose to be my model in this challenge was Naoumie, my Withdoll Emma. Her tan skin forms such a nice contrast to the transparent/white parts of her outfit. The idea with the goldfish bowl was literally the first idea I had. I knew that I had to make this on a low budget (I spent too much money on dolls lately and refused to buy more stuff), so I looked around for transparent plastic items that I could use and I came across those little plastic bowls. The one she's wearing as a head decoration /fascinator. I have three of them and I bought them a couple of years ago (I think they were filled with fruit pudding), just because I thought that they'd make n

  So, let's start from the beginning. First we will need a new wig for Semi. While I really do love her colourful old one, it's really time for something new, something to go well with her new, more romantic look. At first I thought that maybe a short, bob style would be nice, but then I settled on a type of wig that would better accentuate her pear shaped body, by basically repeating that shape.  Yup, I think that's the new look we're going for.  EDIT: And we already found one to match the criteria. It's a little bit too large on her head, but otherwise it's the perfect length and volume. The ears should be able to keep it in place just fine.
