Now all she still needs are some decent clothes. And perhaps a wig that is easier to comb ^-~ I'm really in love with her and wanted to share some pics with you.

Was macht man, wenn man sich langweilt? Man bastelt zum Spaß an einer Panda-Mütze herum. Ich habe so ein Teil noch nie zuvor gemacht und ich hatte auch keine Anleitung, aber ich dachte mir mal, so schwer kann's ja nicht sein ;) Als kleine Hilfe für die Kopfform habe ich mir diese Styroporkugel genommen. Die Mütze ist eigentlich für SD gedacht, aber Miri wollte sie unbedingt vorführen: Das rechte Ohr sieht noch etwas eckig aus auf dem Foto, das sollte ich vielleicht noch abändern. Ansonsten bin ich ganz zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Ob ich dem Bär vielleicht doch noch etwas Rouge verpassen sollte xD?! Keine Ahnung.

Have been a little bit bored today, so I decided to grab my Miho and try sewing another wig for him. I still had this piece of tibetan lamb skin and I love how the color of the mohair matches his eyebrows ^-^. The styling of these mohair wigs is always the hardest part though. Don't know if I will keep those long strands or not, if I keep them, I need to straighten them out. I adore the Miho sculpt. He's such a handsome looking ladd. Heute hatte ich mal wieder ein bisschen Zeit um mich um meine Dolls zu kümmern. Da ich Miho schon seit einiger Zeit vernachlässigt habe, habe ich beschlossen, ihm heute eine neue Wig zu nähen. Mir gefällt, wie gut dieses Stück Tibetlamm zu seiner Augenbrauenfarbe passt. Obwohl ich Mihos schwarze Wig eigentlich besonders gern habe, bevorzuge ich ihn mit Wigs die farblich besser zu seinen Augenbrauen passen. Es sieht irgendwie viel natürlicher aus. Das Styling von Mohair Wigs ist allerdings die größte Herausforderung. Die langen Strähnen müssen unbed...

... was my main occupation last month. It's fun, but I really did too many of those. I really need to take some decent pics of dolls wearing them ^-^. So I'm posting some pictures of my friend's dolls wearing them. This is Karin's beautiful Limwha and next to it missvegas' lovely Soom Kyrie Da ich in den letzten Tagen nicht dazu gekommen bin ein paar neue Fotos zu machen, hier also ein paar alte. Diesen Winter habe ich wirklich viele Mützen gestrickt. Nicht nur in Dollgröße, sondern auch in Menschengröße. Einige davon haben auch sehr schnell den Besitzer gewechselt. Und da ich kein einziges vernünftiges Foto von den Mütchen auf Dolls habe, poste ich hier mal Karins und missvegas Dolls. Ich finde sie so

Just some pictures of Maitri wearing her new ice skates. We don't get much snow here, so I just had to take these pictures as long as I got the opportunity to do it ^-^ Ein paar Bilder von Maitri in ihren neuen Schlittschuhen auf dem gefrorenen Teich. Ich war überascht wie unruhig und uneben die Wasseroblerfläche auf dem eigentlich stillen Teichgefroren ist, es war richtig schwer, Maitri einigermaßen gut darauf zu balancieren. Vor allem mitihren Schlittschuhen -_-. Witzig: die Schlittschuhe funktionieren aber hervorragend! Irgendwann während des Positionierens als sie schon gut stand, hab ich ihr aus Versehen einenleichten Schubser verpasst und sie glitt leicht auf ihnen nach hinten - und das ohne zu Fallen ^-^.

I've finally finished a project I started before x-mas. Ice skates for my SD dolls. Actually I didn't make them completely, the boots are regular Dollheart boots, but I've created the blades. They were modeled in wax and casted in stainless steel.

So what exactly can you do with a doll apart from buying or reselling it? I know this question may sound odd, but actually it happens more than once that people ask "what do you do with your dolls?" the most obvious, you can customize it. Add eyes, wigs, face-ups, mods until the appearance of the doll is to your liking sew new clothes for your doll knit or crochet new clothes or accessories for your doll try yourself on making furniture for your doll create accessories, jewelries and different stuff for your doll make shoes for your doll sculpt your own doll (?!?) photograph your doll (!) draw or paint your doll ramble on what kind of doll you would have gotten if you were allowed to buy one xD Wenn wir uns also ein Jahr lang nicht damit befassen können, eine Doll zu kaufen, sollten wir vielleicht Überlegungen anstellen, was man sonst mit so einer BJD alles machen kann. Was mir so spontan einfällt: das Aussehen der Doll seinen eigenen Ansprüchen besser anpassen; neue Augen, ...

Oh yes, there would be one exception. One big fat exception. Namely if I came across a normal skined Sard that would be for sale. Yet as they are limited to 8 pieces world wide and chances aren't that Soom would rerelease him this year once again in that resin color, I feel confident that I won't be getting him nor any other BJD this year. Tja, was soll ich sagen, eine Ausnahme gibts da schon, denn eine Doll habe ich ja schon länger im Auge, sollte mir also zufällig einer der leider auf weltweit 8 Stück limitierten Sards in normal skin (und ich betone normal skin ) über den Weg laufen, könnte ich schwach werden.

Happy New Year to all of you out there! So, what are your resolutions for 2010? For me it is not spending any money on a new doll this year, since I've come to the conclusion that I spent by far too much on dolls those past two and a half years since I started collecting them. It's incredible how fast collecting those dolls turned into something like an addiction. Now as an experiment I'll try and see whether I can survive a whole year without ordering any new doll or not. If I cannot survive it would be proof that I'm really addicted and doomed -_-. Ein frohes Neues euch allen ^-^! Wie viele ja schon wissen, habe ich mir dieses Jahr vorgenommen keine neuen BJDs mehr zu kaufen. Irgendwann muss man ja mal diese Sucht stoppen, bevor es am Ende zu spät ist ^-~. Ob ich es schaffen werde? Wir werden es sehen, dieser Blog dient zur Dokumentation meiner Fort- oder Rückschritte.
