What to do, what to do...

So what exactly can you do with a doll apart from buying or reselling it? I know this question may sound odd, but actually it happens more than once that people ask "what do you do with your dolls?"

  1. the most obvious, you can customize it. Add eyes, wigs, face-ups, mods until the appearance of the doll is to your liking
  2. sew new clothes for your doll
  3. knit or crochet new clothes or accessories for your doll
  4. try yourself on making furniture for your doll
  5. create accessories, jewelries and different stuff for your doll
  6. make shoes for your doll
  7. sculpt your own doll (?!?)
  8. photograph your doll (!)
  9. draw or paint your doll
  10. ramble on what kind of doll you would have gotten if you were allowed to buy one xD




Wenn wir uns also ein Jahr lang nicht damit befassen können, eine Doll zu kaufen, sollten wir vielleicht Überlegungen anstellen, was man sonst mit so einer BJD alles machen kann.
Was mir so spontan einfällt:

  1. das Aussehen der Doll seinen eigenen Ansprüchen besser anpassen; neue Augen, neue Perücke, neues Face-up, eventuell ein paar Mods
  2. neue Kleidung, Taschen oder Accessoires für die Dolls nähen
  3. neue Kleidung oder Accessoires für die Doll stricken/häkeln
  4. Möbel für die Dolls machen
  5. Zubehör oder andere Dinge aus anderen Materialien erstellen
  6. Schuhe für die Doll machen
  7. eine eigene Doll zu modellieren
  8. die Doll fotografieren, Bilderserien oder auch Fotogeschichten erstellen
  9. die Doll malen/zeichenen
  10. darüber philosophieren, welche Doll man sich wohl gekauft hätte, wenn man nicht gerade auf BJD-Entzug wäre ;)

Chibbi Newt Preorder

Since there is currently a preorder for the Chibi version of Newt, I thought I'd share a picture of my (original sized) Newt. I really like this kitty a lot, however, I think I do have to change something about her style. She might need another, more dramatic face-up I think. I don't have any clues though what exactly I'd love for her. Maybe for a change I should try myself at changing (or improving) her face-up. If everything fails, I can still send her away for a more professional face-up. And, of course, I also need the Chibi Version of her :D.

  So, let's start from the beginning. First we will need a new wig for Semi. While I really do love her colourful old one, it's really time for something new, something to go well with her new, more romantic look. At first I thought that maybe a short, bob style would be nice, but then I settled on a type of wig that would better accentuate her pear shaped body, by basically repeating that shape.  Yup, I think that's the new look we're going for.  EDIT: And we already found one to match the criteria. It's a little bit too large on her head, but otherwise it's the perfect length and volume. The ears should be able to keep it in place just fine.

Resin comparison between DoDollsDream and DollFairyland

  I was asked to do a resin comparison between DoDollsDream nostalgic biscuit and Fairyland tan.  While the colors are very similar, they are not the same. Nostalgic biscuit is slightly more yellowish and pale compared to the Fairyland tan which seems to be darker and a little bit more reddish in tone. However, I'm sure that a hybridisation with a little bit of blushing to match colors would work.  I have also included in this picture a sample of then caramel forest tan color, which is way closer to the Fairyland tan. The caramel forest tan has only been released with the Petite Marionettes though and not with the Teacup Marionettes as far as I know.  And here they are with artificial light:
